In my exhibition I aim to explore how women artists use art to convey the emotions they feel, and look at how this transfers to the finished artwork. Women have often been viewed as emotional in the wrong sense, or had the emotions they do show suppressed, however the pieces and artists I have selected prove women can convey the emotions they feel in a powerful way that can come across in many forms. I will also be providing a text that gives an overview of the different ways women and men process emotion, which can in turn alter the way they create art, and offers another level of information in regards to the inquiry of women’s emotions in art. Obviously, certain works can be read easier than others, so I want to include varying degrees of pieces that either scream emotion, or subtly state it.
